Digital Distribution of Technical Journals & Periodicals

In today’s fast changing world technical periodicals and journals are often the best way to keep abreast of latest developments and trends. Libraries tend to normally get a limited number of copies of such technical publications, some of which tend to be expensive.

The document management functionality that has been integrated with ELiS enables the digital distribution of such publications and relevant articles in each publication. Library members can specify publications of interest and using ELiS an administrator can send specific articles and publications to the member’s email inbox.

WEB Enabled

The OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) module in ELiS enables library members access the library catalog over the internet or an intranet. Users can search for books based on various parameters and also reserve books to be picked up.

Standard Library Functions

In addition ELiS provides the standard library management modules such as:

  • Support for media other than books (e.g. audio tapes, video tapes and CD ROMS)
  • Member management
  • Circulation control that includes automated email reminders
  • Vendor management
  • Serial control
  • Audit trail
  • News Watch
  • Versatile and flexible query interface
